The Infant Room
Our Infant Rooms provide quality care for infants age 6 weeks to 12 months. There are two separate classrooms: Swaddlers & Explorers. The Swaddlers class is for infants 6 weeks to 6 months and the Explorers class is for infants 6-12 months. The ratio in these classes is 1:4 making it 2 teachers and 8 infants. The classroom is designed to offer the same comforts as home in a developmentally stimulating environment. The class is structured so that infants receive care according to their own individual needs. They eat, sleep and play according to their own schedules.
Activities and outside play are part of the everyday curriculum, as well as opportunities for emotional, social, gross motor and language skills. Staff read to the children each day, sing songs, rock them to sleep and play with them on the floor. The infants play outside each morning, weather permitting. The playgrounds are separated by age to ensure the children are kept safe and there is a covered porch area that offers plenty of shade for the infants.
The infant staff works very closely with the parents to assure their comfort in leaving their infants. Daily reports regarding the infant's routines and activities are provided each day. All meals, diaper changes, naps and any medication that is administered is documented on these forms.
All items are labeled to ensure the child is given his/her own formula, bottles, pacifiers, etc. Each child has his/her own crib which is in a separate sleeping area. This allows the infants to follow their own schedule, sleeping when they need to and playing when they are awake.
Staff is trained in first aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR.
Items provided by Super Kids Learning Center include: individual crib and bedding, bibs, burp rags, feeding dishes and spoons, infant formula, infant baby food, infant cereal, infant equipment, age appropriate toys and books, and a great staff!
